7 minutes in heaven is a song about the emotions surrounding the loss of a loved one or a friend.
In 2019 I went for a walk by Beachy head, its a beautiful place and I was sad to hear it is a popular suicide spot. As I gazed out over the sea I thought maybe people feel like they are stepping out into nothing, into the horizon. The thought became a lyric, which became a poem which became this song. This is part of collaboration with my son who produced and arranged this track. I think it really captures the feeling of darkness and hopelessness that gives way to acceptance that tomorrow is another day. My daughter and my sons girlfriend lent their backing vocals and I played all the guitars. my son arranged everythign else.
This lyric video was beautifully put together by Matt Leppenwell who I highly recomend. I think he really captured the vibe the song.
